Despite Problems, Hospital Finishes Fiscal Year With Profit

By JERRY MORGAN, Reporter

VAN DYKE -- Red ink flowed like blood in a battlefield hospital for the second month in a row as hospital administrators made provision for billing problems encountered during the process of computerized
information systems conversion.

As reported at the July board meeting of the Comanche County Medical Center, June's monthly net loss of $169,000 came following the previous monthly loss for May of $370,000. The two month losses almost eliminated what had appeared as recently as March to be a fiscal year with strong profits.

DeLeon ISD’s Grades Improving
By JERRY MORGAN, Reporter

The DeLeon Independent School District continues to record progress in its goal of attaining the highest possible rating by the Texas Education Agency.

For the time being, at least, it will have to settle for only one campus being rated as “Exemplary”, two as “Recognized” and one as “Acceptable.”

The DISD as a whole continues to be rated as “Academically Acceptable,” the same as it has been rated since school district ratings began.
