TRUCK ROLLOVER

Terry Gilder was trapped inside this pickup which he had been working on before taking it for a test drive late Sunday afternoon, May 24. He lost control of the truck on the muddy road near his home. It veered off of CR 459 near the intersection of CR 471, rolled over a fence and into a cow pasture. DeLeon volunteer firemen were called to bring their vehicle rescue implement to free Gilder. Above they are seen cutting through the right door posts and roof supports allowing the truck roof to be bent down flat to the ground. Gilder suffered a cracked vertebra in his lower back and was transported to and hospitalized overnight in Comanche County Medical Center. He is expected to be transported to another hospital for further treatment. His injury is not life or paralysis threatening, however, and doctors project good chances for recovery.
